Title: IP Paging in Mobile Ad hoc Networks
The IP paging architecture in Internet-connected mobile ad-hoc network will be presented in this talk. Motivated by the energy-efficient design requirement in Internet-connected mobile ad-hoc network context, we design IP paging support in ad-hoc networks that is independent of and compatible with existing IP paging architectures. It is challenging that there is no common paging channel or control channel in ad hoc networks. We introduce Paging Gateways at the edge of ad hoc networks to handle the paging issues within ad hoc networks. Two IP paging schemes: proactive paging and reactive paging are proposed and evaluated.
