The Second IEEE Conference on
Open Architectures and Network Programming

New York, N.Y. USA, March 26-27, 1999

Recent advances in open signaling and control, distributed systems, mobility management and transportable software are driving a reexamination of existing network software architectures. The Second IEEE Conference on Open Architectures and Network Programming is the international forum concerned with new approaches to building open programmable networks.

The aim of the meeting is to foster a better understanding of the overall networking architecture fundamentals and its realization in software. In the spirit of the first conference, OPENARCH'99 will provide researchers with the opportunity to extensively discuss current work and future research directions in open architectures, signaling, service creation, resource allocation and active network technology. To compliment the paper track, OPENARCH'99 will introduce a new session for the demonstration of experimental open programmable network prototypes.

OPENARCH is sponsored by the IEEE Communications Society and will be co-located and organized in conjunction with INFOCOM'99.

Also, the spring meeting of IEEE P1520 will be held in conjunction with OPENARCH'99 in New York City on March 28-29, 1999.
