Study of flow control algorithms in Broadband Networks
Description
This project involves the implementation and the study of the dynamics of
flow control algorithms for broadband network.
The candidate is expected to implement various flow control algorithms on
a simulator and study their dynamics. If time permits, some algorithms
will be added to the firmware of broadband network analyzer running
a real-time operating system and tested out in an ATM network testbed.
The candidate will have access to the Multimedia Networking Laboratory of
the Center for Telecommunications
Research for the duration of the project.
Requirements
- Good knowledge and programming experience with C/C++.
- Knowledge of flow control algorithms.
- Some familiarity with any of MATLAB, SPLUS or Mathematica.
Notes
- The project is available immediately (1997-01-10).
- The student is expected to register for a project course (3 points)
e.g., EE E6001 or equivalent, under Prof. Lazar supervision.
- A project report is required by the end of the semester (May, 1997).
